OBITUARY.....
Lacy Kingsborough Ford, Sr. died June 4, 2005.
A memorial service was held June 7, 2005 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, SC. with Rev. John A. Gess officiating.
Mr. Ford was born November 3, 1911 in York County, SC to the late Jesse B. and Margaret Little Ford. He attended Clover schools and graduated from The Citadel Military College. After college he was a cotton farmer and became Principal of Bethel Elementary School. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and served in Europe for more than two years. After the war he worked as Business Manager for the Ford Chevrolet Company, Clover, SC and then became owner and operator of Clover Auto Sales. Mr. Ford was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church where he served for many years as an Elder and at the time of his death he was an Elder Emeritus. He has served as President of both the York County Education Association and the Clover Civic Club. Mr. Ford was a member of the York County Mental Health Commission in the 1960s.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Brandon Ford, his son, Lacy K. Ford, Jr., two grandchildren and a number of extended family.
