Biography

In a newspaper article from The Gastonia Gazette dated Monday, May 15, 1972, there is a photograph of Mark Jackson of Clover planting a flag beside the grave, and Mrs. J.R. Barnwell is standing beside the grave.  The following is from the newspaper article.

REVOLUTIONARY PATRIOT REMEMBERED - Mark Jackson of Clover, S.C., plants an American flag beside the grave of David Jackson in Bethel Cemetery while Mrs. J. R. Barnwell of Kings Mountain watches.  The planting of the flag followed the unveiling Sunday of a marker to Jackson, a patriot of American Revolution.  The service was sponsored by the Kings Mountain chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which Mrs. Barnwell is the regent.  Mark Jackson is a great-great grandson of David Jackson.
