Epitaph:
Sacred/To/the memory/of/THOMAS BARNETT/Who departed this life/Novr. 18th 1813/aged 63 years./A solemn march we make/Towards the silent grave/A lodging all must quietly take/And carnal pleasures leave.
Description:
The original stone tablet is standing beside a granite die on base that was placed by the family to commemorate the burials of both Thomas Barnett and his wife Martha Barnett. There is also a granite lawn-style marker with the inscription "THOMAS/BARNETT/1750-1813/PATRIOT" to the west of the granite die on base. Harpe Consulting conserved and reset the original headstones of Thomas and Martha Barnett in 2015.
