OBITUARY:
Thomas Campbell Barnett, III passed away July 11, 2024 in Anderson, South Carolina. He was born Sep. 15,1949 to the late Thomas Campbell Barnett, Jr. and Nell Henry Barnett. He was the adored husband of 39 years to the late Claire Pursley Barnett.
He was raised in the Clover, South Carolina, community of Bethel. He had many lifelong friends from childhood and a huge extended family of Henrys and Barnetts. He graduated from Clover High School in 1967 and was a class favorite voted "wittiest and most spirited".
He enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in California.
When he returned to Clover, he worked and studied at Limestone College to get his Industrial Engineering Degree after which he began a long career at Homellite and Amp, Inc. Campbell was an active member of the Clover JC's, a 46 year member of the Alpine 208 Masonic Lodge and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, South Carolina. He was also on the Bethel Cemetery Board of Directors.
He and Claire moved to a lake house in Townville 8 years ago and attended Oakdale Baptist Church. Later they moved to Clemson Downs.
He is survived by a stepdaughter, a stepson, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A graveside service and the interment was held at Bethel Church Cemetery, Clover, South Carolina, on July 26, 2024.
Bratton Funeral Home served the Barnett family at the local location.
