Biography
Son of James S. and Sarah Laney. Husband of Rachel A. Hill Laney. A pioneer educator who taught at Laney School, a one room long building located in the "Point Section" of York County, South Carolina. The old school building stood near the old Pickens Boyd homestead about one mile from the Buster Boyd Bridge.
