IN MEMORY OF/F.T. BOYD,/SON OF/David J. and Elizabeth Boyd./who departed this life March 1st./1863 aged 18 years, 3 months and/26 days. He was a member of the Bethel Rifles, 18th Regt., S.C.V./He was one among the brave/youths to respond to the First/call of his noble state for her/defence, he served the campaign/on James Island, and then entered/the service in Virginia from/there to North Carolina, which/he cheerfully endured until/stricken down by disease.
