OBITUARY:
Rev. James Harry Bryant, Sr., 75, of Clover, South Carolina died June 15, 2014 at home.
Rev. Bryant was born May 8, 1939 in York County, South Carolina. He was an Army Veteran and a member of New Life Baptist Church, Clover, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Clover High School. He attended the Fruitland Baptist Institution, Hendersonville, North Carolina and was licensed and ordained at Bethel Baptist Church, Clover, South Carolina. He preached his last message at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Bryant was the community Pastor to everyone and retired after serving a lot of people in York County.
In the 70's Harry was a little league baseball coach and helped start the football league. He carried the chains for the Clover High School football games for 35 years and was a member of the Block C Booster Club for 30 years.
Funeral service was held June 18, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Reynolds and Rev. George Paul officiating. Interment was in Bethel Church Cemetery, Clover, South Carolina.
Survivors include his wife, Mary "Janie" Dean Bryant, one son and one grandson.
