OBITUARY....
Josephine "Jo" Currence Alexander, 89, passed on to our Lord September 28, 2013 in Charlotte, NC surrounded by her family. She was born May 3, 1924 to the late Hamp and Sarah Currence. She lived a life of hard work and commitment to her faith and church, family and friends. "Jo" retired after a career as a bank officer in town, and lived out her days on the family farm, where she never met a person with anything less than kindness and never let a chore go undone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. "Bud" Alexander, her four brothers, Berry, Mike, Bus and Carl Currence and two sisters, Mary Lee Adams and Elizabeth White.
Funeral service was held October 1, 2013 with Revs. John A. Gess and Sara A. White officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Church Cemetery.
Survivors included two sons and one daughter.
She also was survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
