OBITUARY..
James Marvin Carnes, 77, of Clover, died suddenly October 18th.
He was born April 13, 1886 in Lancaster County, SC, a son of the late Ransom and Beaver Carnes.  Mr. Carnes was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday at Bethel Presbyterian Church by his pastor, Rev. Kenneth Newman. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors included his wife, Estelle D. Carnes, seven sons, Gilbert Carnes of Lincolnton, NC, Ira Carnes of Clover, SC, Curtis and Roy Carnes, both of Ponitac, MI, Rev. M.N. Carnes of Selma, NC, Claude Carnes of Cramerton, NC, George Carnes of Kings Creek, SC; two daughters, Mrs. Mack Liner of Gastonia, NC, Mrs. Fred Stanford of Cramerton, NC; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Vivian Cameron of FL.
