Granite die on base with inscription "PURSLEY" for both William and Ada Pursley. William has a granite lawn-style marker flush with the ground on which is mounted a bronze plaque with the following: WILLIAM R PURSLEY JR/SP3 US ARMY/KOREA/DEC 3 1930 JUN 9 1999

Biography

OBITUARY.....
William Raymond Pursley, Jr., 68, died June 9, 1999 at his home in Clover, SC.
He was a native of Filbert, SC and was born December 3, 1930 to the late Mary Jane Brown and William Raymond Pursley, Sr. He was a graduate of York High School and Clemson College. Mr. Pursley was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was employed for 31 years by Odell Associates, Charlotte, NC.  He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Clover, SC and served as an Elder and as a Trustee. He was a board member at Westminster Towers, Rock Hill, SC., secretary-treasurer of York County Beekeepers Association and Clover Optimist Club for many years.
Funeral service was held at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Revs. John A. Gess and Jonathan A. Dorst and burial was in Bethel Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Ford Pursley, two daughters, two grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
