Alexander Hamilton Barnett, 81, died at his home near Bethel on Thursday, December 29, 1893. He was a worthy representative of the staunch strudy stock for which section of the county has long been noted. He was a good farmer and a good citizen who took a wholesome interest in all that pertained to the welfare of his neighborhood and state, told the truth, paid his debts and, when convinced he was right, stood as firm as a rock. He had the respect and esteem of all who knew him, and his community feels that in his death it has sustained a serious loss.
