Martha J. Wright Jun 18, 1840

Epitaph:
IN MEMORY/OF/MRS MARTHA J. WRIGHT/Consort of/MR. JAMES L. WRIGHT/departed this life the 18th June 1840/28 Years and 18 Days/ALSO/In memory of Their infant son/who was born and died the same day/Surviving about two hours./He lies here Intered In the Bosom of his Mother./She dropped a tear and grasped my hand/But pain she would have spoke;/But well my heart could understand/The language of her look/Farewell it meant; a last adieu/I soon shall cease from pain,/This silent tear I drop for you./We part to meet again./Sad was the moment, and serene,/That all her sufferings clos'd/No agony or struggle seen,/No feature discompos'd/The parting struggle all was mine/Tis the Survivor dies,/For she was freed, and gone to join/The triumph of the skies.
