Biography

Her obituary, as it appeared in The Gastonia Gazette, on Monday, July 23, 1917, is as follows.

MRS. ANN BRANDON

Mrs. Ann Brandon, wife of Mr. J. L. Brandon, died this morning about 1 o'clock at her home in the Bethel section in her 79th year.  Funeral services will be held at Bethel Presbyterian church this afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment will be in the Bethel cemetery.

Deceased had a large family connection in Gaston and York county.  She was a sister of the later Mr. J.H. Craig, of Gastonia, and an aunt of Col. T.L. Craig, Mr. J. Robert Craig and Mrs. S.A. Wilkins.  She has one sister, Mrs. Emily Barnett, living.  Deceased was married three times.  Her first husband was James Quinn and of that union three children survive, namely: Mr. Thomas N. Kendrick, of Starke, Fla; Mrs. Rufus Davis and Miss Lillie Kendrick, of York county.  She also leaves several children by her present husband.

Mrs. Brandon was a woman of splendid Christian character and was held in the very highest esteem by all who know her.
